Waives Right To Jury In Retrial | Willis

February 8, 2016

On February 5, 2016, Daniel Willis filed a waiver of jury trial in cause number 15,605 where he is charged with the offense of Murder. The parties contemplate the trial being heard by the Honorable Albert M. McCaig, Jr. in Bastrop County beginning Tuesday, March 29, 2016. The parties anticipate the trial lasting up to two weeks.

Mr. Willis and his defense team are confident that Judge McCaig is in the best position to objectively evaluate the facts of the case, properly apply the law, including the justification of self-defense, and render a verdict of acquittal of all charges against Daniel Willis.

By waiving his right to a jury trial and proceeding before the Court, Mr. Willis is guaranteed finality in his case and he can move forward with his life.
